It is a perfect formula for all ages (we are in our 30s and our son... read more is 5 y old) and holidays styles since you can ask Hirosh to tailor the tour upon your preferences and his recommendations of must - sees.
We discovered an amazing country, very rich in term of culture, landscapes, museums, food, shopping, craftmanship, tea and hospitality.
Hirosh is a licensed guide, very knowledgeable and passionate about his country - not only the historic part, but as well about botanics, wildlife, agriculture, religions, etc - and attentive to his clients needs. He is very client centric and even assisted me in finding a medicine we were running out.
He was driving very safely which is important.
I would also recommend this tour for people interested in ayurvedic since you can experience it in most of the cities and it is part of their culture.
Sri Lanka has all you need, nature,... read more religious diversity and art, culture, outdoor activities, and we were lucky enough to experience the beauty this nation has to offer.
Our experience was made extra special because of this tourism company, and the man leading it: Hirosh.
We did extensive research before traveling but ended choosing this company because they replied quickest, offered a variety of activities, and were very accomodating of the changes we made to the itinerary.
When we arrived, we were welcomed by Hirosh, and we knew we chose the right company. Hirosh was a translator, a tour guide, an advisor, and above all, a friend.
He went far and beyond what was requested of him in making sure we are comfortable during our trip. A
- A friend of ours is very prone to allergic reactions, and he developed one early in the morning and needed to go to the hospital at 6AM. He texted Hirosh on a very short notice. After my friend got ready, he went to the hotel lobby to find Hirosh waiting for him in the lobby. He took my friend to the hospital and made sure he was well taken care of medically.
- I traveled from Jan 2022, and my birthday was during the trip. While we were in Yala, Hirosh made a stop and said he will come back shortly. A few minutes later he was back with a cake with a "Happy Birthday" and lighting candles. I was worried that I'm spending my birthday away from home and family, but he made me feel at home. It is worth mentioning that he did this out of his own, and it was not coordinated by the trip members. He found its my birthday, planned, and executed the whole thing on his own.
- He is very well educated. We would ask questions about Sri Lankas history, religions, landmarks, economic and political status, and he would almost always have an answer. I especially enjoyed asking him about the Buddhist faith.
- He always knew the best food places in town. We liked all the places he recommended, especially when it comes to authentic Sri Lankan food.
To anyone reading this review, I highly recommend this tourism company, and you're in for one great trip!
In short: extremely... read more professional, highly reliable, high integrity, punctual, with excellent service.
Our guide Kavinda went above and beyond, and never let us Down.
Vehicle was clean and safe.
Communicating with Hirosh via what's app and again to plan the trip was flawless and responses were super quick.
I would highly recommend this company if you are planning a trip to see wonderful sri lanka.
The contact with Hirosh and planning of our tour... read more was professional, easy, fast and honest. Also, they are very fast and customer oriented Their car for our tour was in a very good condition, comfortable & clean.
Most important was our guide and driver Chanaka. He is such a good guy and a real professional, who made us enjoy our trip as much as possible. He was always doing everything he could to make us enjoy our trip as much as possible, and he totally succeeded. Moreover, he is a very safe and attentive driver in the crazy Sri Lankan traffic. We are very happy about having such a knowledgable, funny, friendly, patient and professional guide. I'm sure our holiday wouldn't have been the same without him.
The activities were very interesting and he was offering me different options.
He is really proud of his country and the local history and likes to make tourists learn and understand a lot about it.
My trip finished a bit early due to coronavirus, I'm planning to come back as soon as everything gets well again.
Hirosh was very much willing and was spot on as we arrived at the Airport. He immediately drove us to Colombo city straight away using the Expressway in his comfortable black Honda wagon.
He has excellent knowledge about the history and culture of the country, as well as the capital city also. He first drove us through the busy Pettah markets, and I did get to see how busy the capital is compared to far flung places like Mirissa, Hikkaduwa etc. Pettah is a busy wholesale market with shops of grocery, spices, tea, sweets, everything possible required which then ships to the rest of the country.
Thereon, we drove to the first pit stop at the Gangaramaya Temple, a sacred holy Buddhist temple in the city centre. Gangaramaya temple had a courtyard where we saw temple elephants with their ornamentation being taken inside by the priests. The temple had many different halls on 2 floors with thousands of different Buddha statues, manuscripts from different countries. Endless poses of Buddha statues will enlighten you all around and feel blessed. There was a tiny Buddha statue, which is even smaller than the size of a rice grain.
From this holy place, we moved to the Galle Sea Face, which is a long sea promenade and is much cleaner and empty than what I read in reviews before. There are many fancy hotels on the road opposite the promenade, and you may walk around for hours on the promenade and enjoy the wonderful Indian Ocean breeze. We then broke for lunch at a mall on the Sea Face, and tasted some Lankan fast food fusioned with western and asian cuisines.
After a sumptuous lunch, we moved to the Independence Square, in commemoration of the independence of Ceylon from the British. There is a open building with a traditional roof and many pillars and is very clean, quiet and peaceful. We rested in the hot summer afternoon and then walked around a museum cum gallery just behind this square.
Last but not the least, we visited a very large park nearby called Viharamahadevi Park. This park is where local Lankans like to spend their free time during weekends and evenings. The park also has some local food and snack vendors, and some kid's rides, which are not exotic but cheap and fun for kids.
I had read mostly that foreigners visiting Lanka do not travel to Colombo, but I would suggest them to take a day out of your schedule and feel the pulse of the capital city, which is cleaner and way more organized than other busier cities in South Asia.
We did not have much more time, as we had to catch the transit flight and Hirosh drove us straight to the Airport and we were spot on to catch the flight back home.
When you are with Hirosh, you feel safe and in warm weather, and just relax and enjoy. His knowledge, his mannerisms, his professionalism is beyond many travel organizations I have been with, and I always recommend Travel RIght Sri Lanka for all your Lanka tours, short or long.
Because I was travelling a long way I decided to book a taxi in... read more advance. I was recommended this Driver by a friend and I was very happy with the transfer. The car was clean and in good order a friendly and smooth journey. Would highly recommend.
Whether you prefer to plan your own trip and leave the execution to Hirosh or just let him suggest an itinerary for you, Hirosh was always extremely flexible for whatever our needs (or moods) dictated that day. Highly recommend travelling with Hirosh!
